The Nokia 6303 has largely been seen as the well overdue replacement to the hugely popular 6300. While it is based mainly on its older brother, both in terms of design and software.

On first impressions, you can clearly see the similarities between the two. The 6303 measures 108.8 x 46.2 x 11.7 mm with the 6300 measuring 106.4 x 43.6 x 11.7 mm, there is very little between them in size terms. The same is also true for weight, with the 6303 only 5g heavier, which is certainly not a huge amount.

The noticeable difference are mainly on the front of the 6303, with changes to how the buttons are positioned. Although while these are only small changes, they are fairly similar, with the 4-way navigation button in the middle of the call answer/ cancel call buttons.

In terms of specs, the 6303 has been improved. There has been a big improvement in internal memory, as well as an increase in how large an external memory card, rising to up to 4GB, which is ideal for this phone in our opinion.

The camera has been improved, which was really needed. While a 2MP camera did the trick for the 6300, the new 6303 now boasts a 3.2 MP camera, which comes fully equipped with a LED flash and auto focus. Overall, we feel it is hard to notice the real difference between the cameras simply because the quality of the screen is the same (TFT, 16M colours with 240 x 320 pixels). There is a difference when they are printed though.

This little beaut will more than likely be a huge seller for Nokia. Currently on sale on Vodafone, O2 and Meteor, the market will once again be flooded, but its affordable to the masses. If the 6300 is anything to go by, this will be huge for Christmas.

    Hi James

No word yet from Meteor, I have been asking about but heard nothing. More than likely they will, the 6300 was a great seller for them so it cant be too much longer
