The long awaited and much anticipated touchscreen offering from Nokia, the 5800 went on general release in the UK. Reports suggest there were long queues around the main Nokia store in Central London with many people waiting for hours just to get their little paws onto the new device.

Nokia must have seen the long queues coming, handing out branded bags, warm pouches which were designed to keep you warm enough not to get frostbite!

Sales in markets where the device has been on sale since October have been very encouraging, with some markets selling out of the highly sought after handsets within hours of them going on sale in Russia and Hong Kong.
