A survey by Mulley Communications has revealed some very interesting information as regards iPhone users and their attitudes towards downloading in Ireland. It has revealed that iPhone users would recommend the Apple iPhone, but that they would be glad to recommend the iPhone to anyone they know, but they are more willing to spend money on downloading and paying for applications for their iPhone, from their iPhone.

It has revealed, that on average, one user in particular  has spent over €300 on applications; while on average, most users only spend €17.

From the survery of 115 users, 72.5% were using 3G iPhones, with 68% of the 115 buying their handsets through O2. The other 32% said they got their handset in the States from an AT&T or Apple store before the rules for buying them were changed to avoid this happening future.

An important piece of information of interest to application, games and music providers is the amount users are spent and are willing to spend. The fact that on average, users spent €17 each, there is a market for such applications, games and music.

Those surveyed also pointed out that they are surfing the web more with the iPhone. The most popular applications so far have been Twinkle (40%) and Facebook (15%), while Eirtext (10%) allows users to go to their network website and send txt messages for free.
